The center has been established at the Badr Mosque with the financial contribution of the city’s people.
It was inaugurated in a ceremony on Thursday, attended by the mayor Sirte and a number of religious officials, AL-Wasat news website reported.
During the function, a number of top Quran learners of the city were also honored for their achievement.
Sirte is a Mediterranean coastal city located 450 kilometers east of Libya’s capital of Tripoli.
Libya is a Muslim-majority country in North Africa that has more than a million Quran memorizers.
